For the past 8 years, I’ve served DC residents at The Lab–a design and research team in the DC Office of the City Administrator. Currently, I lead The Lab’s Civic Design team working to make government services easy to find and use. The topics we tackle are as diverse as the challenges our city faces–education, economic prosperity, housing, public safety, and transportation–to name a few. We work with our fellow DC Government agencies for all Washingtonians.

I got my start at DC Greens–a local nonprofit that supports food education, food access, and food policy–where I grew from Intern to Director of Operations. I have a B.A. in sociology and political science from Muhlenberg College and a Masters of Public Administration from The George Washington University.

In my personal time I put my bureaucratic navigation skills to work as a volunteer at Foundry UMC’s ID Ministry. There I meet one-on-one with DC residents who need assistance replacing lost or stolen vital records. The clinic provides expertise and financial support toward getting birth certificates, a DC identification card, and/or a replacement Social Security card from the relevant government agencies.

For the past 12 years I’ve proudly called Washington, DC my home along with my husband and son. I love puzzles–jigsaw, knit, crossword (the mini if I’m being honest), and yes, service design puzzles too.
